In 2009 I attended a family reunion of identified branches in my family tree who originally settled in Western Kentucky. One year later, I returned to the same area along with a group of first cousins to perform a restoration of the family cemetery. It was that event that revealed to me the importance of genealogy and those who have gone before us. I was able to make historical family connections with what we uncovered during the restoration. My discoveries had such significance to me. My commitment was to continue the journey of family, the tree, and it's branches.
