Bio

I can't ever remember when I wasn't interested in the past. As a child I was fascinated with anything antique, usually because of the decoration and detailed patterns that Victorian manufacturers would add to the most common everyday, utilitarian of objects, but also somehow by the history I imagined they held. By adolescence I had a keen interest in family traditions and stories, and by my late teens was trying to compile a family tree, long before it became fashionable, and long before the internet. This was at a time when you still had to rely on snail mail to get any information. Over the years this led me to pursue my "ahnentafel" German for pedigree, in other words my genealogy. That is how I came across FindAGrave. I've found it be great source of information. Since starting my membership, I have tried to contribute by adding photographs of the people memorialized and elements of their biographical histories. I enjoy reuniting families, e.g. children to parents and vice versa, via the FindAGrave website. I consider myself very conscientious in the edits I suggest, and if have I any doubts about an edit, I will not use it. A habit all members of FindAGrave should be proud to claim. I don't mind sharing photographs, the majority of the photographs I've posted are of people I am related to either by blood or marriage, and I'm unequivocal in their identification. Please do not use them to identify any other person, other than I have stated them to be. If in doubt, please contact me first, before using the photograph. Here's wishing all members Godspeed (success) in your endeavors on FindAGrave.
