She was born July 1915 and raised in Santee, South Carolina, Orangeburg, Sumter, Columbia and other areas in and around. Her father was Broughton Watson and her grandfather was Wash Watson of the Watsons Family, his parents Captain Jack Watson and his wife Phillis Watson all of South Carolina.
