My name is John Samuel Hoover. (Sam) I own the old Hoover Cemetery just out from Woodbury Tennessee. We, my wife and I are making a project of cleaning and restoring it as best we can. It is located just off of Hoover Mill Rd. I purchased the property about 10 years ago, as I felt it should remain in the Hoover family. It was so grown up when I bought it that it was hard to even find the cemetery.
Hoover Mill Rd. was named after my grandfather, Thomas Frank Hoover. In the late 1920s he supplied the first electricity to the then small town of Woodbury. He set the power poles and ran the electricity into town and also wired the houses for a few lights.
