Katelyn F. Carrigan was born on Friday, March 1, 1991 in Galesburg, Illinois, the daughter of Kendall Dean and Cynthia Sharon (Mosher) Carrigan. She was reared and educated in the Knox County area, graduating from Knoxville High School in 2009.

She later graduated with high honors from the Mortuary Science program at Carl Sandburg College in 2018. In 2017, she received her crematory operator certification from the National Funeral Director's Association.

She works as a licensed mortician and certified crematory operator in Galesburg, Illinois. She is a proud member of the Lucretia Leffingwell chapter of the DAR, the Illinois Funeral Directors Association, and the National Funeral Directors Association. Growing up she was involved in the Knox County 4-H Program. During her time at Sandburg, she served as President of the Sigma Phi Sigma Fraternity & Sorority.

Katelyn enjoys any activity that allows her to be in the great outdoors, including camping, fishing, hiking, and taking strolls through cemeteries. Above all else, however, she loves spending quality time with her loved ones and pets. Other passions include researching genealogy and studying entomology, arachnology, and herpetology. She is also a graphite portrait artist.
