Trying to locate and therefore remember every Rochdale soldier, sailor and serviceman who gave his life in the Great War. To that end, I am updating existing records, adding new ones, posting photographs and biographies of all those I find.

So far, there are 2,865 of my fellow townsfolk who I have found, who are lying in and commemorated in, many different countries and oceans of the world. They died in myriad different circumstances, but all of them gave their lives for the same cause.

They all hail from one Lancashire town, where they either were born, lived or enlisted.
