Bio

My interest at the present time is to accurately and rigorously document the family of Alexander and Margaret (nee Mowbray) Hetherington and their many descendants throughout North America. Alexander (1855-1902) and Margaret Mowbray were both born in Glasgow, Scotland and they later married in Dennistoun. Respectively, they later emigrated to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1885 and 1886. I am one of the many descendants of Alexander and Margaret and am actively working to document what is known about them and their descendants while also seeking the origins of the Hetherington family that appeared within Glasgow during the first half of the 19th century.

Additionally, a similar interest in the George (1882-1940) and Helen (nee Lettice) Hall (1882-1961) family prompts me to investigate this family tree as well. Helen Lindsay Lettice was born in Hawick, Scotland and emigrated to the U.S. in 1921. She would marry George (original surname "Neff") Hall in 1922 and reside in Philadelphia for the remainder of her life.

Finally, for the benefit of my wife, I also maintain an interest in the Brundage, Kennedy, Elder and Donald and branches of the family. The former two branches of the family have been readily traced back to Nova Scotia while the latter two have been traced back to Scotland. My work on the Meszaros branch of the family can be traced back to Hungary in the late 19th century. Unfortunately, the trail goes cold thereafter.
