My closest ancestors began settling in SW Virginia in the early 1700s. Further back in time, I descend from several families that settled along the James River in Henrico, Virginia beginning in the early 1600s, including two Jamestowne qualified ancestors. The Whitlow branches are entwined with these early families and through collaboration with other researchers we are making strides in locating sources to validate these, along with dna matching helping to prove these family connections.
