Bio

My ancestors helped settle the east coast prior to the American Revolution, moving westward across the United States from areas such as New York, Maine, Vermont, Massachusetts and Pennsylvania. My paternal lineage: Truman David Wood, Ralph Wood, Charles Wood, Peter H. Wood, David I. Wood, John Wood and Uriah Wood. Of note, John Wood fought the British during the American Revolution. He was captured by Indians, turned over to the British and then imprisoned at Fort Niagara. Lineage through my paternal grandmother, Myfanwy Jean Hughes: Willam Salisbury Hughes, William Salisbury Hughes, Owen Hughes, William Hughes. I am related through the Wood side to Rebecca Warner Whitney of the John Whitney (1592–1673) family of Watertown, Massachusetts. Happily, this also connects me to the Sidney G. Whitney, William H. Whitney, Sr., William H. Whitney, Jr. clan.
