Started on this quest to build my Pirie family tree. A mystery after DNA tests my brother had with our believe to be grandfather turned negative. And after my father started remembering a John Pirie trying to reach out to him when he was younger and used to call the house, to check on his now as we understand it son. Ironically my fathers Mother then grudgingly confessed and albeit we felt a little guilty for causing a ruckus, it has brought some peace to my father who had a pretty troubled and difficult childhood. A bit of a mystery, but life is full of these. At this point we put together the pieces lost and learn from mistakes in our own histories and hopefully help the future learn, grow, and perhaps evolve for the better... All I can say is, I feel a deep sadness when any child is left behind, and does not know their roots. I am not sure why I feel this way but I think there is something very human about wanting to know, where we came from?
