I have had some assistance from a professional genealogist in the past in searching for my paternal ancestors, who were from Ayrshire in Scotland, and emigrated to Ulster in Ireland, and then to NH in the United States. I also have German, Dutch, French and Transylvanian ancestry, some of which I do know about, much of which I do not, as my family never spoke at length about their history. Now, in the last. long chapter of my life, I a attempting to fill in some of the gaps in this history for my daughter, so she may know and appreciate the many men and women who gave us the DNA that defines us today.
