I became interested in genealogy years after I searched for and found my birth mom and her family. I was born in 1957. I found her the hard way - with interviews, record searching, and lots of footwork, back in 1992, before the internet was useful for this. Many years later, in about 2018, with the help of the internet and DNA, I discovered who my birth dad was, though sadly he'd passed away before we could meet. I am in touch with the wonderful families of my roots. I continue to help others find missing relatives, if someone asks and I am able to help. I live close to Edmonton, in Alberta, Canada.
