My ancestors are some of the first black people who migrated to New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Quebec, Canada. People from New York, Virginia and Carolina. Mostly loyalist, runaway slaves or free folk wanting a better quality of life. Most migrated to Otnabog (Elm Hill) and surrounding area's, Nova Scotia and Houlton Maine. Sadly, many were met with disappointment and struggle through false promises by the crown for services rendered for fighting in the war of 1812.
I search for lost family members and try to connect them to other family members via findagrave. Hopefully this will help others to connect the dots.❤
