I bought my own grave at 25 years old after the death of my newborn daughter. It has always felt odd to have that tiny plot of land, but it has been a comfort as well.
Cemeteries are mysterious, fascinating places. You can wonder through the markers and never realize if or how the people memorialized in the stones are connected.
I hope that working to document and connect these memorials will help to preserve and encourage people to discover their histories.
