Bio

I'm a big fan of preserving, and remembering the past and a huge believer in honoring people that came before us. I just feel the need or calling to help people be remembered. My biggest interests are in music, history, and genealogy. I want to make some kind of difference and i still haven't found what I'm looking for, but I desperately want it to be rewarding.

I am happy to transfer memorials that I manage to family or even close friends if requested. I have memorials Im managing that are people I loved and cared about but aren't my blood relation and I would also of course be happy to transfer them to family if requested. Until then I will take good care of them. The only thing I hope and ask about transferring memorials is that they are maintained and kept up with. And of course I would be happy to take them back if it ends up being a little much for anybody!
If I have 10 free minutes, I am on Find A Grave or researching things for my memorials. I found the thing I like best and interests me the most is linking babies and young children with their families. So often the babies and little ones are somewhat forgotten about after a couple generations because really, they don't have any descendants. It's some thing I have a passion for because there are a few babies in my family, both are my grandma's and great grandma's younger siblings, and I know thru stories my granny told me how hard it was on their families to lose them. I want to make sure they are not forgotten.

I copied the following from another FAG volunteer's profile, because I love the word/ description (and learning new words) and I also love the storytellers poem.
Thanks to them for sharing, I appreciate it. So now I will pass it on.

THE STORY TELLERS
We are the chosen. In each family, there is one who seems called to find the ancestors. To put flesh on their bones and make them live again, to tell the family story and to feel that somehow they know and approve.
Doing genealogy is not a cold gathering of facts, but instead, breathing life back into all who have gone before us. We are the story tellers of the tribe.
********************************************
Taphophilia:
An abnormal love for graves and cemeteries. The love of walking cemeteries and locating relatives and the gravesites of ancestors.
********************************************
"Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff,
they comfort me."
Psalm 23: 4

Passing By~
Remember friend as you walk by.
As you are now so once was I
As I am now you will someday be.
Prepare thyself to follow me.
