Everyone deserves the courtesy of a response. Please be considerate.

I enjoy walking through older cemeteries and Bruce County, on the shores of Lake Huron ON, is far from many people. Responding to requests for photos in local cemeteries is one way of giving back in return for the help I've received with finding the graves of my relatives.

I visit smaller cemeteries to fulfill photo requests in out of the way places when I'm travelling. Occasionally while searching a cemetery I find headstones/markers for other members of the same family that don't have a memorial. If I create a memorial for these individuals I try to automatically transfer them to the volunteer who is maintaining their family memorials.

Everyone deserves to be remembered.
Although I didn't intend to be maintaining hundreds of memorials, it bothers me to walk through a cemetery and see names that have been forgotten. So I added the St John's Anglican Pioneer Cemetery where my great-great grandparents are buried and created memorials for everyone buried there. I also added Golden Valley Cemetery along with memorials for everyone. At the moment, I would prefer to continue maintaining these memorials.

I've added 290 memorials to the existing St Paul's Anglican Cemetery because there were only 40 memorials when I searched my family there and the majority were without photos. I am happy to transfer these memorials to family members.

In 2022 I photographed every headstone in Red Bay, Balsam Grove, Oxenden, and the Old Methodist (Allenford) Cemeteries. I urge other volunteers to do the same. The Oxenden Cemetery only had 300 memorials and Allenford only 9 memorials before. Now they have 800+ and 65+ respectively. Hopefully this will help people find their relatives. Oxenden has approximately 20 headstones that are almost illegible. I've created 'unknown' memorials for some of them in the hope that someone local will recognize the headstone and provide a name. And I have photos with a few letters visible that I'm still trying to identify before uploading. There are so many memorials to be created.

Thank you to the other volunteers who are willing to transcribe the photos I'm uploading. After spending many hours taking and editing photos, it is wonderful to have your help getting them added to the correct memorials.

Suggested edits to fill in dates, inscriptions, links to spouses and parents, or other information are welcome and appreciated. When possible I will include the contributor ID of the person providing any information that isn't included on the headstone so family can contact them directly if they have questions.

My photos can be used for personal purposes with photo credit. They may not be uploaded to other websites.
