Bio

"Both justice and decency require that we should bestow on our forefathers an honorable remembrance." -- Thucydides

I have been interested in genealogy for around five years and a member of Find-A-Grave for almost two years as of 2023. I started with barely knowing my paternal grandfather's siblings and have learned well beyond that. I have met new family members and forged new relationships. It is awesome to find out how you fit into the world
and the overall picture. It's also fascinating to me to learn about the lives that my ancestors led. It's a journey of self-discovery that I highly recommend anyone to embark on.

What initially started as an interest in genealogy through historical records at first has taken on new dimensions through cleaning gravestones and memorials.

If I can help in any way, feel free to message me. I am currently working on the many Protzmans scattered around the United States. Piecing together and linking the many memorials together the best that I can. I hope that through my research I can enable others to learn of their past.

If I have a memorial that I have created and you are a family member of the individual, I am more than happy to transfer it to your care.

In this day and age, with cremations being so prevalent due to cost reasons, I highly value the physicality and presence of a gravestone/memorial that one can visit to pay their respects to loved ones.

If you have been a member of Find-A-Grave for many years, I respect that. There are some F.A.G. hardliners that want everyone to adhere strictly to the guidelines and just wish it to be a grave registry website and nothing more. I think it's beneficial for the site to evolve beyond the creators original intentions. By adding some genealogical context to a grave, I can help others maybe discover that one little piece of the puzzle that was missing and help fill in some blanks.

My Paternal Surnames: Protzman, Lyons, Houston, Haney, McVicker, Smith.

My Maternal Surnames: Petitte/Petitti, Lilly, Jones, Giacoletto, Ciochetto, Parrella, Enrico.
