I grew up in the Washington Heights section of NYC. My parents were born in Europe, as their parents were, but were forced to flee their homes, eventually coming to the USA to make lives for themselves. A family that was once a tightly bonded community became fragmented and disconnected. I started working on our family tree a few years ago to help pull our extended family back together again to the extent possible, and also to leave a history of our family for my children and generations to come. Challenging for sure, but its a passion for me now, and enjoyable!
