I began my journey with this site by researching a friend's great great grandfather, who died from his injuries at Sharpsburg/Antietam in September 1862 (Civil War Battle). Since I am also researching my own ancestry and family it seemed intuitive to begin looking into my own relatives. Even more fun and rewarding is interacting with and helping others by fulfilling their requests.
