Bio

I had to go and create a new account since my old one was locked out. No worries, as I got back up running quickly.

I found the stories contained within my family history exciting when I was just a young boy in the '80s and we had a family member write a book on the Hughs family history. Grandpa was good at telling stories about family members, but it only occurred to me after I got into my 20s that some of the stories had been filtered for young kids. As to not expose us to the less than savory things family members have been engaged or involved with.

My Grandpa Bob, my name sake, on mom's side of my family was equally into family genealogy as the book author was. Unfortunately, he had passed on before I began having a deeper interest in family history for that side of the family. The journey from other lands to this continent whether that occurred more recently or hundreds 1000s of years ago Is not what has become interesting to me.

This site has a commonality to all of us, my family including, in that we all face death and when the most important aspects of the stories of our life are not recorded and past down, they are much like a unmarked grave in that they are losses forever.
