I've been researching my Acadian Roy line, my Quebecois Roy Line, my Nadeau line and my Furmanik line since 2000. My research was done by visiting the Maine State Archives and Maine State Library using microfilm of vital records and newspapers and jotting down what I found in notebooks. I used the wonderful genealogy collection at the Maine State Library, using the transcribed parish registers of churches in the St. John Valley and the lower St. Lawrence region of Quebec and New Brunswick. I've visited several cemeteries where my ancestors and closer family are buried including the St. Bruno Cemetery in Van Buren, Forest Hills Cemetery and St. Joseph Cemetery in Old Town, Evergreen Cemetery in Bradley, and St. Francis Cemetery in Waterville where my parents, aunts and uncles, grandparents, great aunts and uncles, great-grandparents, and one great-great-grandfather is buried.
