My father, "Jack R Crist I" the Airplane Commander, was shot down in the South China Sea on June 26, 1945 by a Japanese Picket Boat escorting Japanese shipping. All ten crew members on his four engine Consolidated Privateer PB4Y-2 Bomber were lost at Sea. This Memorial honors their service and death
