Bilberry, pastor of the Spur Bethel Baptist Church officiating.Death occurred Saturday morning May 2, 1942, at the home of his mother, Mrs. Josie Bell Morrow, North Keller St. where he had been confined to his bed since December of last year.Pall bearers were C.E. Roberson, Estel Hairgrove, Walter Smith, Slim Foster, Bill Walton and B.J. Bell.Interment was made in the Spur Cemetery.Lonnie Odell Morrow was born in Jones County, near Anson, Texas, May 11, 1914. At the time of his death he was 27 years, 11 months and 21 days old, lacking 3 days being 28 years old.When a small child he moved to Duncan, Oklahoma with his parents where his father and a brother George died, only one week apart, during the flu epidemic of 1918. Six years later, with his mother and other members of the family, he came to Spur where he has since resided. At the age of seventeen he was converted but never affiliated with any church organization.He was married at Dickens, Texas October 11, 1940 to Ima Jean Nichols.Survivors include his wife, one child, Lonnie Jean Morrow, his mother, Mrs. Josie Bell Morrow; five sisters, Mesdames P.E. Wann, Corpus Christi; W.S. Sanders, Duncan, OK; T.F. Roberson, Spur; W.E. Johnson, Lamesa; and four brothers, J.B. Clyde, Thurman of Spur and Ray Morrow of Ropesville.©The Texas Spur, May 7, 1942
