He was raised in Nortonville, N.D. His family moved to Heppner when he was in high school. He lived more than 40 years in Oregon, most recently in Aloha.A U.S. Navy veteran, he was a tool and die maker. He worked for Iron Fireman, Omark Industries, Electronic Specialties, Dimeco and GAF. In 1980 he opened his own shop, XL Manufacturing in Tualatin.He married Linda Loughridge on Feb. 6, 1988.Survivors include his wife; daughters, Sandra Benton of San Francisco, Susan of San Diego and Sandra David of Portland; son, Don Jr. of Beaverton; sister, Mary Schoonover of Riverside, Calif.; brother, Eddie Jr. of Heppner; mother, Lucille Massey of Riverside; and eight grandchildren.Private interment in Willamette National Cemetery.Remembrances: VNA Hospice.Arrangements: Bronleewe-Bass Funeral Home.
