Conrad Rill's Extended Family

Conrad Rill traveled to the United States from Germany and settled in Butler, PA. He married Elizabeth Swartz. They had 7 children: George William, Elizabeth, William Edgar, John Conrad, Michael Wilburn, Anna Jane, and Johanna. It was during childbirth with Johanna that Elizabeth and Johanna died, I assume on Nov. 12, 1874. It was noted that Elizabeth and Johanna were buried in the same casket. Conrad married Margarete Cline, I believe it was May 19, 1877. I found records at St. Marks Evangelical Lutheran in Butler, PA. She brought two children, Louis and Charles Shroup, into the marriage. Conrad and Margarete had 8 children: Frank Willbert, Harvey, Alfred (Fred), Joseph, Eddie, Rudolf (Rudy), Thomas, and Lena M. It is believed that Conrad and his family moved to Missouri because railroad land on either side of the railroad was being sold. This land would have been cheap. Around 1878 to 1880 Conrad and his oldest son, George, went to MO. Conrad and George selected a home site. They sent for Margarete and the children. Margarete then brought the children out by train. The farm became the permanent home.
