DON'T KISS YOUR PARROTS, ADVISE; GET FATAL DISEASEHouston Jan 14—(AP) –"Quit kissing your parrots," Dr. Allen Hutcheson, city health officer advised the citizenship today as parrot fever continued to spread over the country.People contact the disease from fondling parrots, particularly those recently brought from tropical, countries, he said. Parrot fever can be detected in the birds from their wheezing and general lack of ambition and pep Dr. Hutcheson said. The disease is similar to influenza, typhoid fever, and pneumonia. The Dr. Said he knew of no cases here.TOLEDO WOMAN VICTIMToledo Jan 14(AP)- Miss Catherine Tierney,67, Housekeeper at the Good Shepard Church Pastoral residence, who died in the hospital here yesterday, is believed to be Toledo's second victim of Psitticosis, or parrot's disease.Miss Tierney is believed to have contracted the disease from a parrot which the Reverend George Braingan, pastor of the church brought back with him from South America in December.BALTIMORE DEATHSBaltimore, Jan 14.(AP)—The second death in Baltimore believed to have been due to Psitticosis was reported to city health authorities today.
