Confederate Pensioners of Color (Union County, NC)

This virtual cemetery will list the men who filed for pensions for their service during the Civil War with the Confederate Armies. These men were African-Americans and lived long enough to claim a pension. They represent the many unknown names for those who did not live long enough to do this. Two men will be missing from the list: Wilson Ashcraft who died July 4, 1932 (burial unknown) and Hamp Cuthbertson who died between June and December of 1932 but no death certificate has been found. -Patricia Poland
