Samuel Lipsky emigrated from Odessa, Ukraine abt 1900 with his wife, Lena and sons Jacob age 12 and Charles age 9 to St. Louis, Missouri. He owned a tailor shop on Carr St in 1903 and later moved to Alton, Illinois and opened a tailor shop on Second Ave., Alton. His residence was above the shop. He became a naturalized citizen of the USA on November 21, 1908.His son, Jacob had just graduated college when Samuel Lipsky died suddenly at 46. Jacob went on to finish medical school and marry by 1913. His son Charles lived in New York and married also.Samuel Lipsky had eight grandchildren and this writer is one of them.
