Viewing will be held at Greenlawn Cemetary (River Blvd) on Saturday, February 21, at 11:00 a.m. A chapel service will be held at 1:00 p.m. followed by a graveside service for Lillian Evelyn Hayslett, 94, of Bakersfield who passed away February 11, 2015.Lillian was born September 30, 1920 in Maricopa, California to Charlie and Lillie Walker. She was raised and attended school in Maricopa. She married her beloved husband Clifford, in Reno, Nevada on August 1, 1939. Lillian and Clifford owned and operated grocery stores in Bakersfield for many years. In later years Lillian was an Executive Secretary and Bookkeeper for Gerald Lucas who owned and operated a production rig company. After retirement, Lillian and Cliff enjoyed traveling in their R.V. Lillian also enjoyed going on long walks with Cliff, visiting the beach, sewing, and spending time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and later her great-great grandchildren. Since May of 2012 Lillian lived with her son and his wife in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Lillian was the last of her generation in both the Walker and Hayslett families. She was a kind and gracious woman who put God and family first. She will truly be missed.She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Clifford Hayslett and her siblings, George (Elmer) Walker and Drucilla (Dru) Jeffery. She is survived by her sons Ron Hayslett and wife, Pat of Las Cruces, NM and Barry Hayslett and wife, Barbara of Bakersfield, her 9 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren.
