A Virtual Cemetery created by Paul Warner UE

South Monaca Train Wreck

The Pittsburgh and Lake Erie Railroad's Cleveland Express left Pittsburgh on the afternoon of June 24, 1901. At 4:05 p.m., it derailed near Monaca, Pennsylvania, killing two crew members and injuring dozens of passengers. My great grand uncle, Thomas Benson Warner, was one of the injured passengers. The fireman, William J Cunningham, and the baggage master, Lawrence "Lowry" Black, were killed. This virtual cemetery remembers as many of the passengers as I have been able to identify.
