Services will be held Thursday, December 3 at 11:00 a.m. at Carlisle Funeral Home with Pastor Dennis Gamauf officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 3 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Greenwood Cemetery, Michigan City. She was born to Rufus and Ioma (Howe) Hare in Mexia, TX. They preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband of 21 years, Guy F. Foreman. She was preceded in death by her first husband of 44 years, William “Bill” Laas. Also surviving is her daughter Sandra (Charles) Laas Brickley of Estero, FL, son-in-law Keith Eschenbaum, granddaughter Lindsay, Erie, CO, grandson Jason (Debbie) and great-granddaughters Leila and Charlotte of Hailey, ID, granddaughter Amanda (Melissa) Parker Brickley, sister Faye (Phillip) Morrow, Longview, TX, their families, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, friends, and former students. She was preceded in death by daughter Virginia “Ginger” Eschenbaum, and brother Charles Hare. CeeCee attended Harding University, Searcy, AK, Valparaiso University, IN and received her BS Ed and MS Ed degrees from Purdue University and Indiana University. CeeCee taught in the elementary schools of Michigan City for over 25 years, receiving numerous accolades and awards as an outstanding educator. She was inducted into the MC Educators “Wall of Fame” for outstanding achievement and excellence in service. She was a member of First Christian Church. She was also active in AAUW and Indiana Retired Teachers Association. She was a survivor of the New London Texas School explosion on March 18, 1937. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the charity of donor’s choice. CeeCee would ask that if you’ve read this, “Thank a teacher”.
