Lost on the Dash

The privateer brig Dash was built in Freeport, Maine, by the S & S Porter shipyard. During the War of 1812, privateers such as the Dash were legally allowed by the U.S. government to take ships and goods from enemies at sea. Lost 1815 via a storm.
