Professional Football Player. Aaron Norman Thomas was a tight end in the National Football League (NFL). His family moved to Weed, California, where he played on his first organized football team at Weed High School. After graduating from high school, he continued his football career at Oregon State, where he played in the receiving position from 1958 until 1960. He started his professional career after graduation when he was drafted in the 1961 NFL Draft by the San Francisco 49ers, where he stayed until the end of the 1962 season. At the end of the 1962 season, he was traded to the New York Giants, where he played tight end for the remainder of his career until retirement in 1970. During his time with the Giants, he was selected to the Pro Bowl in 1964. He is the father of NFL player Robb Thomas. After retiring, he became a stockbroker. With his father, he purchased a restaurant/bowling alley/bar in Yreka, California. He was the head football coach at Klamath Falls High School in Oregon for three years.
