As you travel on Sir Francis Drake Blvd. you will see this sign at the turn off to the cemetery.
The cemetery is hidden up the hill in the trees that you see.

This little cemetery is a hidden jewel. This POV is of the "Claussen" family plot and then further on, the four members of the "Life Saving Station" guardsmen within their own fence. The one entrance is just past that.
It is magic inside this plot surrounded by trees, surrounded by grassland on three sides and wetlands to the West.

These lovely old trees greet you at the hidden entrance to the Point Reyes Coast Guard cemetery. As you duck under the first tree, you are immediately flanked by two others. After that, pure enchantment!

Note as of September 2015

In this last year, several people have placed memorials in this cemetery as a GUESS.

Please do not do this.

Unless you are a close relation to the existing Claussen graves, there is really no chance of any other burials here, unless they are specially approved.

This land is National Park Service and the majority of graves are from the old Coast Guard station from 1890's and the Claussen family and/or their workers from a very long time ago.

Congressman Clement Miller was not buried here either (he is in a somewhat secretive location near Mt. Wittenberg.)

Please remember find-a-graves protocol and do not plop a memorial here for any reason.

The Life Saving Station and G Ranch Cemetery is located in the Point Reyes National Seashore Park, and not in the town of Point Reyes. It is located at the top of the hill in the grove of trees, off of Sir Francis Drake Blvd. It is at 38° 05′ 36.82″ N, 122° 55′ 52.81″ W
