Pilgrim's Rest Church and Cemetery, Christmasville, TN taken 1992, by Ann Holt Carpenter

This church was organized in 1865 in a log school house on the W.R. Sparks farm. In 1869 a two story church was erected on land donated by Robert Young From 1869 to 1996 the Pilgrims Rest Masonic Lodge met on the 2nd floor. Rev. H. Shaw Scates, ordained from this church was stated Clerk of the Cumberland Presbyterian General Assembly from 1955-1975. Rev. Aaron Holmes was pastor from 1960-2006. Worship Services were held until the church was destroyed by a F4 tornado April 2, 2006.
