Near entrance Old Section of Cemetery you will see a Ground Compass with informational plaques. This is actually across the street from Sardis Presbyterian Church. The center piece is a finial which was on the corners of the belltower of the original church. The plaques describing the cemetery and spring are mounted on capstones which were features of the tower and sanctuary entrance. The 'New' section of the cemetery is behind the church on the west side of Sardis Road.

There are 2 cemeteries; this stone/plaque sits in front of the old section; first burial reported in 1803; due to the age of tombstones, most are no longer erect and instead laid flat with some in multiple pieces.
