Main-gate, simple-Gothic entrance; Frank Eurich, Jr., Architect, 1927. 140 acres incorporated 1895 & opened 1896; developed by Frank Eurich, Horticulturalist, & Mason L. Brown, Civil Engineer. Eurich also developed a cemetery of the same name in Toledo, OH & co-founded the Assn. of Amer. Cemetery Superintendents in 1887. Originally outside Detroit City limits, one of the early "lawn-park" cemeteries which were forerunners of what we now call "public parks." Photo by Earl Sutton.
