Instructions for reaching the Hightower Cemetery near Cedartown, Georgia. Take 278 south from Cedartown, bear right onto Cason Road. Travel until you come to the Antioch Baptist church. Turn left on Hightower Mountain Road and go about 1 mile. There is a two story white wood hom on the left with pastures and a barn beside the home. The home is the former Hightower family home. The cemetery is some distance behind the home on a little slope. The cemetery is fenced in. As of 2000, it is reported that some of the markers are broken and fallen over. It would be wonderful if some group of people near Cedartown would make an effort to restore this historic cemetery, and place photographs of the grave markers on findagrave.com. Several miles further south of this old Hightower home are the ruins of the Hightower Mills and Falls which was owned by Elias Hightower.
