Add PhotosDirections: Going South on LA Hwy. 107 from Pineville, turn right onto Paper Mill Road. Go to front gate of Kraft Paper Mill; get directions and permission to enter property. About 1.5 miles behind the plant is a locked
gate, so permission must be obtained in order to get past this gate. Go about 2.0 miles down a dirt road that goes up on the levee for another .5 miles. From the end of the levee road, one must walk approximately .25 or .5 miles on what was once a good dirt road. Now it is rough walking.
The small cemetery (10 feet wide at one end and 16 feet at the other end by 50 feet long) was on the left, at the edge of a deep gully formed by flood waters. A few years ago Boy Scouts cleared the area, and fenced it with 1"
binding strips and short steel posts. Two tombstones have been mended with these same strips and steel rods for support. On the other side of the deep gully, there appeared to be many lost burials, but no tombstones.
Some of the stones may have washed into the river near the area. Only five marked burials were in this enclosure, but there was space for at least eight. The headstones face the dirt road.
