This is the "makai" ("toward the ocean" in Hawaiian) section of the columbarium within the Memorial Garden at the Church of the Holy Nativity. The areas are roofed for protection from the weather, but open to natural light, tradewinds, and plantings.

This is the entrance to the church and the memorial garden just beyond. This side of the grounds is shaded by a mature kukui (candlenut) tree and accented by ti plants. The tree outside the stained-glass window is a hala (pandanus), and there are several coconut trees in the lawn on the ocean side of the parcel.
