Add PhotosCol. Robert K. Moore died in the spring or summer of 1808, as proved by the suit of Robert K. Moore -vs- Aaron Bowman, Minute Book of the Court of Common Pleas of Clark County, Indiana, on September 14, 1808. The suit was dropped due to the death of the Plaintiff (Col. Moore). Also, there is further substantiation of the death of Col. Moore in that there are three articles in The Western Courier, published at Louisville, from November 9, 1814 to December 14, 1815, in which Catherine Moore advertises a farm to rent "in Richmond", just above Jeffersonville. In those days, women did not own property unless they were widowed.
Catherine Moore died before April 21, 1851, as her will was probated in Jefferson County, Kentucky, on that date. She was buried at Richmond, according to the article in The National Democrat, published at Jeffersonville, Indiana on June 1, 1888, reproduced in the Lacassange/Moore Cemetery records at the Jeffersonville Public Library."
Col. Moore, Catherine, some of their children and grandchildren were moved and reburied in Cave Hill Cemetery, Louisville, Kentucky. What a shame!!!!!!!
