This cemetery was on the Alkire farm on Cemetery Road out of Mount Sterling. According to several people in Mount Sterling it no longer exists may The readings were performed by Carl English Porter one of the moving individuals behind the Alkire.org site which is unfortunately now partially corrupt. The email he sent me regarding these readings is as follows.

"Old Alkire Cemetery Abraham Alkire farm, Pleasant Twp. Madison Co. OH Homer "Slim" Alkire payed to have this cemetery cleared, so that I could access the tombstones, and make this reading. His brother Rife Tanner Alkire, took me out to the cemetery and counciled me, patiently waiting for me to complete the reading. Knowing that the usual condition of the cemetery was inaccessable, I was determined to glean all the information available, and do it accurately. Although a mere college student, I had already been interested in genealogy several years, and had experienced reading tombstones. It was a warm, but pleasant day, and the project was not overly large, so I believe I got good results. The reading was made about 1962". - Carl English Porter
