John and Wilhelmena Miller immigrated from Germany to the United States around 1865. John maintained vineyards in Clarksville and was known as "the grape man" in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Near the site of this cemetery he and his wife tended "Dahlia Dell," a Clarksville garden spot, where their thriving business of dhalias was a local sightseeing attraction. Their business was established no earlier than 1880, and was continued at least into the 1930s by their daughter Anna Bell (Miller) Boyd.
