Add Photos"The remains of 19 persons who were buried in a cemetery near the State Route 18 and 2 overpass were moved to the Friendly Cemetery when the new road was put in. Only a few of the marble and fieldstones are readable at this time. The cemetery was originally made for the slaves of Charles Wells (founder of Sisitersville). The names of the slaves were mentioned in his will as being buried in the Slave Cemetery on the hill overlooking his home. This information was found by Beulah Deaton and Floyd Deaton copied the names on the stones in the corner of Friendly Cemetery."

Isaac
Mariah
Peter
Frank
David Jesse
James.
All of this information came from a book in the Tyler County Museum.
The stones have been relocated to the Friendly Cemetery.
