Red Bud Hill Cemetery is also known as Dixon Cemetery, Madden Cemetery, Red Bud Cemetery and/or Setser Cemetery.
It is located on Red Bud Hill near the city of Evarts, Kentucky.
Directions:
From the City Limits of Harlan, Kentucky: At the junction of U.S. 421/KY 38, traffic light #5, turn onto KY 38 and drive for approximately 8.6 miles to the City Limits of Evarts, Kentucky.
From the City Limits of Evarts, Kentucky: Drive on KY 215 for approximately 1.2 miles. Turn left onto Red Bud Hill Road (911 Sign). Drive a few feet up the hill on road and turn left at Golden Lane Road. Then make another left to go to the cemetery.
A Church, Red Bud Missionary Baptist Church, is on the main road (KY 215). If you drive past it, you will have missed the turn to Red Bud Hill Road (911 sign).
VIEW the MAP by Satellite. It is a better view of the location. On the map it shows a name of another Church. Red Bud Missionary Baptist Church is the correct name.
It is a one lane, narrow road. Presently, there is no guardrail on the side of road. Be very careful while driving on it. The road is blacktopped to almost the cemetery. When the blacktop stops, there will be gravels on the remaining part of road to cemetery.
There are a few houses along the road. At the last house, there is a small family cemetery on the hill near the house. To my knowledge, it is called the Carr Family Cemetery.
Harlan, Kentucky was also known as Mount Pleasant.
SPECIAL NOTE: All of the names have not been added to this cemetery. Some of the inscriptions on gravestones are hard to read. There are unmarked graves in this cemetery.
To my knowledge, the Setser family members' graves are located near the top of this cemetery. At one time there was a fence around their family section. The Madden family members' gravestones are near the front section of the cemetery. The Crider family members' gravestones and markers are to the left of the front section.
NOTE: If you have any photos, feel free to add them. Also, if you have names, etc. of burials in this cemetery, please add them.
