Sculptured Stone - this cross-slab was carved in the 8th century A.D. It bears a celtic-type cross decorated with interlace and flanked by entwined beasts on one face, and a battle-scene below two pictish symbols on the other, the hole is modern. A group of similar stones stands by the roadside, north of the church. Cared for by Historic Scotland.

It dates to the 8th century and commemorates the battle of Nechtansmere.
