African American Cemetery. LOCATION:
"8.3 miles due south of Liberty, .2 mile past Mary Chapel Church. Take cemetery lane across road from John Wm Powell place almost .4 mile."

Map is an approximate, based on description above and Map 9 (S21/T1/R$) in the Amite County Cemetery book, which denotes the cemetery as "L109", between Amite River Church Cemetery (L4) Davis Cemetery (L45) also found on Map 9 in the cemetery book.

NOTE:
1. I struggled for sometime prior to creating this cemetery and the memorials. The Cemetery book lists the name of this cemetery as "Unknown" African American. I could not find any other Amite Co cemetery on Find-A-Grave or other on-line cemetery listings with similar coordinates and interred individuals. May also be known as the Bates-Tobias Cemetery. There are a number of Bates in the same cemetery.
2. If someone has more accurate information in regard to the specific location, I will be happy to make changes. MHS
