John Wadell and Lovie Stockard LeSueur are the founders of the LeSueur Cemetery. The land was owned by Lovie Stockard LeSueur; it was deeded to her by her husband, John Wadell LeSueur. The land was the site of the St. Nazareth Church of which John Wadell LeSueur was the pastor. In 1962, the death of John and Lovie's six-year-old son, Lynn Lee LeSueur prompted the start of the cemetery. St. Nazareth Church closed in the 1980s; however, the land remained a family cemetery.
