The John Wesley Patrick cemetery was relocated in December 2015 to the Johnson County Memorial Cemetery, located at Staffordsville, KY. The cemetery was relocated during the beginning stages of the Mountain Parkway expansion project.
The John Wesley Patrick cemetery was once located on Burning Fork of Magoffin County on a hill behind the current location of the Magoffin County Health Department building. The hill is soon to be partially removed and no signs of the old cemetery will exist.
The original cemetery listing in the Magoffin County Cemetery book, Vol 4, suggests there are at least 7 unidentified graves at the time of transcription. Probably done in the early 1980's.
There are seventy (70) flat memorial markers installed in front of the row from the John Wesley Patrick cemetery that was relocated. I am uncertain where these graves were re-interred from. Each is identified simply by a number and stating they were graves removed from a "Patrick Cemetery." The numbers on the flat stones are higher than 70, but I could only find 70 markers.
