Add PhotosLocated in the old district - Isani . Built at the head of the Wine Ascent ( Sirajkhani ) on the city wall tower . The palace complex included apartments, various auxiliary storerooms and a royal court church. It is built on the ruins of an old castle, the towers, piers and walls of which are made of a mixed pile of cobblestone and square (so-called Georgian) bricks.
According to the plan, the round wooden balcony gracefully crowns the well-rounded as well as the round pier. In 1822 there was a monastery of the Transfiguration in Sachino , and in 1862 there was a parish school and a seminary for the children of the clergy. After the Soviet Union and the spontaneous resettlement of Georgian citizens, the complex was rebuilt several times, with additions added. Residents were evicted in the 1970s , restoration work was carried out, the monument was cleared of late impurities and restored to its original appearance (1978–1980). 1987-1988, after a small reconstruction, the Veriko Anjaparidze One Actor Theater worked here. Currently here is the Convent of the Transfiguration.
